- Due to Guatemala’s poor socio-economic conditions, many of the people are illiterate and unemployed. The lack of resources of many families means that they confront many problems such as inadequate housing, broken homes, domestic violence, alcoholism, drug addiction, and prostitution. The children are particularly affected.
- El Buen Samaritano exists to help. Since 1991, this center has supported many children and their families. The vision is to provide a refuge where the children feel secure and have access to education, food, and health services. Likewise, through home visits and parent meetings, the center encourages the families to better themselves, breaking the cycle of the problems that affect them. In all of its work, EBS strives to bring love and hope to the children.
- El Buen Samaritano operates only through donations. Materials such as paper, pencils, books, children’s books and videos, basic medications, clothes, etc., are indispensable for the running of the center. Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated.
